Mountain View is one of 5 trails along the Spearhead Trail System located in Western Virginia. On its own, Mountain View Trail has well over 100 miles of amazing trails that navigate the Appalachian Mountains. Nestled between towns, you can start your adventure in St. Paul, VA and traverse hills, rocks, creeks, and more as you ride towards Coeburn, VA. When it comes to the towns fear not, both are ATV/UTV friendly, so you can ride right from town to the trailhead. When deciding what trails to take there are plenty options as Mountain View has a multitude of loops available for riders of many different experience levels.

When it comes to the trail environment, Mountain View will not leave you begging for a change of riding style. Everything from the terrain you ride on to the experience you feel will vary as you ride the trails. When it comes to the ground type, you can be riding up a sloppy muddy hill in one area, while ascending a slippery rocky hill in another.

To see even more details on the trail, make sure to check out our full Trail Guide (Link above).

There are both gas and food options in the towns of Saint Paul & Coeburn. There is none along the trail, however. So if you are parking at the trailhead, you will first want to gas up and fill the cooler on your way to the trailhead. Otherwise, take advantage of both towns being ATV Friendly and unload, then drive right from the trailhead into town.

Another great option, if you have enough gas hit the trails from Saint Paul and head to Coeburn for food and a refuel.

There are a few lodging options along the Mountain View trail (check out our trail guide above).

Honestly, though, we highly recommend you check out the Western Front in Saint Paul, VA. This is an absolutely amazing hotel that caters to off-road riders. Additionally, it is such a comfortable hotel with many amenities such as fire pits, side by side rentals, an onsite restaurant, and a TV and pool room called “The Roost”!

We can’t say enough good things about this hotel, if you are heading to the area this is the first lodging option you should consider.
